The Dundry Inn, Dundry
Ate there on a Monday evening. Our olives, dip and bread were removed before we'd finished, even as my wife was still eating them, because our mains arrived. My casoulette contained a chunk of pork belly, which was 80% fat and tasteless, and duck which was dry and stringy. It tasted simply of hard beans with spice. Quantity was small. My wife had duck breast which we considered small for the price we paid. The puddings were excellent, albeit expensive. Butcombe at 3.30 a pint is the most I've ever paid. Decor was drab and needs colour. Waiter was overbearing and needed to chill out. We know other pubs/restaurants locally which serve better food at less cost. Is it an attempt at fine dining that doesn't work? A disappointment and we won't be going again.
