One of the best pubs in Billericay!
Friendly staff, management and clientele.

Welcoming to the regulars and non-regulars alike - The type of pub where you could walk in off the street and you WOULDN'T get that look.

Landlord definitely knows how to keep his beers. If you want a good pint, then go to the Railway!

Been there several times in the last year or so and felt compelled to update on the last comment. Great staff and good ales. All in all a good pub

Worst pub I've ever been in, popped in for a quick late pint, which was served with a smile, then the Landlord rang the bell and practically threw us out, citing he had a chinese.

All in the space of 2 minutes.

I won't ever be going back.

My word! This place is now as busy as it used to be back in the 70s if the evidence from my recent visit is anything to go by. Good bright atmosphere and staff who really seem to know what they're doing and never having to ask that dreaded question "Who's next?" even when under pressure. It makes the Rising Sun at the other end of the High Street look like a morgue.

Not a bad little place if a touch quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Landlord likes the sound of his own voice but apart from that all service pleasent.

A pleasant pub with a reasonable selection of beer. Staff were friendly too. The interior was a little bland but comfortable.

Since this pub was taken over in feb it has changed loads inside and out, I used to drink here years ago and i will def be coming back its got a lovely atmosphere and the people are lovely and the real ales are brilliant def the best in the high street.

I used to drink more IPA than was good for me a few years back when Sue and Tony were there. My recent pint was not bad but the place does seem to have lost that eclectic mix and atmosphere. Maybe I'm just getting old. Still I bet it's better than the Mayflower...

Regrettably, this place is getting a reputation for changing it's licensee more often than my ex changed her attitude and recent experience means for the worse (true of my ex too!). Ideally sited at the far end of the High Street and a stone's throw (literally) of the mainline rail station, it should be a magnet for weary commuters in need of relief from the global turndown. Instead it is a dull place that looks to be on the verge of it's own financial crisis.

Pleasant enough pub next to the station with a bay window at the front looking down onto the street below. two handpumps, one of which was dispensing the relatively local Nelson's blood from the Maldon based Farmers Brewery.

since the new landlord/lady have taken over , the pub has become very welcoming.
They are open to entertainment ideas
The Railway is a friendly local pub and if in Billericay is worth a visit

I love this pub because this is where I met my husband and it is where he and his friends still meet every Friday to catch up on football and working week. It is great place to drop into after travelling from London for a pint or two and I am told does a very good pint.

A nice enough pub, though the extremes of charaters can be a little disconcerting; at one side of the pub you've got the locals who've been going there for years and at the other you've got the youngsters of a weekend. Most groups keep themselves to themselves, which makes stopping in for a pint something you can do, rather than something you should do.

One of the oldest pubs in Billericay, somewhat of a landmark , not only in terms of location but also in terms of the history associated with it. Very friendly mixture of customers with a Stella and Fosters sold on tap. Voted Top Billericay Pub Garden for 2004!
