This was a pleasant surprise as the pub turned out to be a Palmers house. Apparently they never supply their beer to the free trade so it's only available in their own pubs. I choose the Dorset Gold, very nice!
Interesting collection of old enamel signs on the ceiling.
We decided to eat here and had a delicious steak and ale pie with homemade potato cakes, very tasty. Great to be able to enjoy a meal without any irritating background music.

Not really a beer drinkers pub, more a Gastropub, but the Palmers (never seen this before) 200 was absolutely spot on.

Well, the beer is alright, but if you're a Guinness drinker, or fancy a pint of Amstel (which is NOT a premium beer!), either one will cost you £4-65! I recently had Guinness in a London bar @ £3-40. This place is taking the piss!

Not bad grub, but they seemed to want to close early when I was there...I mean, at about 10pm. Went to the King William instead!!

I had a fairly OK evening here, but there seemed to be pressure from the bar for us to finish a barrel he claimed he'd got in specially.

Poncey food at poncey prices. Beer is ok if you like Palmers. Drinks are not particularly cheap.
I looked at the menu one evening and walked out; Bangers and Mash - �10.25

Nice pub, good service (although it takes two barmaids to complete the transaction....oh well) beer was good as well. I tried the Palmer's 200, spot on. But like I said, the service was very 'entertaining'!!!!!

Last comment is right, Idoits like hoonkerama should be dismissed as wasterers. Is it a good pub - Yes.
Palmers in this area is good and I know that the 500 is expensive but thats Glastonbury !

What about the gay couple kissing in the John Snow in Soho which were promptly chucked out ? Well, being as straight an ELEVEN bob note, I wouldn't have liked it either and totally agree with the landlady for chucking them out. HOWEVER, I wouldn't like a straight couple kissing in any pub either ! I chose this pub to make this comment for obvious reasons. I must admit I have struggled with a fair bit of homophobia myself, BUT, it turned out one of my really great long term friends is gay ! There is NO WAY I now don't like him anymore. Gay is gay. Most are born gay, and that's that. To hate them, you might just as well hate the whole universe.

Personality (and civility) behind the bar would be a welcome addition. I like Palmers beers, but don't feel the ordeal is worthwhile.

Really liked this pub.
On offer were Palmer's (new to me), in 3 different varieties.Cider served, and Guinness and lagers.
Although I didn't eat, the food seemed to be great.
Good background music (80's, when I visited).
Freddy the dog was a dreamer, really friendly (unt mein host). Schnauzer (spelling?).
Jonathon was great behind the bar, and is well thought of by other bar staff, locally. Although I didn't get the chance to see, apparently he excels at magic, and would I'm sure do a good trick for you if you ask him nicely.

A decent pint of palmers served in an interesting looking pub....pity about the food smells. Looking to be more a gastro pub that a beer pub.

The whole pub is on CCTV, which should tell you everything you need to know. Beer OK. Its a restaurant really and convenient for the High Street.

Beer and spirits good and fairly priced. Very friendly Landlord and Landlady and staff.
Food is OUTSTANDING. Pub prices for top restaurant quality. Very busy on a Saturday night so you're better off booking a table in advance, but it is well worth it. Stay the night in one of the clean & comfortable rooms & get a wonderful breakfast in the morning! Get a neck-ache and eyestrain trying to read all the posters, pictures & plaques. Interesting reading matter on the very clean toilt's walls.
I cannot recomend this place highly enough.

Tough to find, I did B & B at the Who'd A Thought It? and was overjoyed. Really decent 6X, great food, clean rooms, and I can see why the men's toilet is "prize winning", although the wallpaper was overpowering. If you want to stay in Glastonbury, but be off the High Street, the "Hooda" is a reasonably priced choice
