please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I do return here fairly often as the place has good management returned after a period of neglect and madness by the previous incumbents. The ale is now good, the atmosphere is back and it probably is the most popular pub in the town now. Give it a go - Saturdays and Sundays good and entertainment on Saturday nights usually.

Our first visit for a while, the pub has improved ,its much more tidy now,and landlady welcoming ,the two beers we drank ,Brewers Gold and Sharps Special especially were in good shape ,worth a visit.

thing are looking up - new owners - refurb ongoing - food starting soon - smart courtyard opening soon also. Very nice people trying very hard - take a look for yourself. It's a complete turnaround from previous reviews.

This Pub started very well under new ownership, the food has now gone due to lack of interest. You are now left with bad vinegary tasting ale, lager that has sediment floating in it, very low stock levels of spirits, unhelpful bar staff, and often flooded smelly toilets.

Its such a shame as Tanya previously run an immaculate perfect pub with a good customer base. The new Landlord is oblivious to the the above and let good customers find alternatives.

Even the cleanliness has lapsed to a state of poor hygiene...

Currently closed. Ill health has finaly forced Tanya to throw in the towel. Awaiting decision from owners as to wether or not it will re-open under a new landlord/landlady. Lets hope it gets a bit of a much needed facelift inside and out.

Whatever your age, you'll look young in this pub!! Not changed since I first visited in the mid-1990s. Bottle fridge maybe an entrant in Antiques Roadshow !!
