big screens , well kept ale

Yes, I have to agree with many of the comments on here. Lots of shaven headed , lager drinking, middle aged 'shouties' struggling around a pool table with insufficient room to cue properly. Very male orientated. The pint of Doom Bar I had was drinkable but that was all. When my wife and her friend arrived, they as I did, felt the place felt a bit threatening. Not our cup of tea at all. Heck, even Muggletons is better than this.

It's an odd one.

Massive screens showing Sky Sports = shouty lager types.

3 decently kept ales, comfy seats and live music means I would and sometimes do go back.

Horrible.

I pretty much agree with the recent reviews. It was afternoon when I went in and the few customers present had the look of being there since the place had opened that morning.
The woman behind the bar was friendly enough but it didn't feel like the sort of place I would want to visit after about 6pm.
It's the sort of pub which appeals to a certain type of drinker. ie loud, mainly male, lager loving sports fans.
Adnams Bitter and London Pride were the two ales on and to be fair the Pride was not bad.
