The Arun View Inn, Littlehampton
Booked a table for a Friday evening, we were warned it was music night. A table away from the music was good but so was the music. Not too intrusive and very professional. Both the beer and the meal were excellent (steak). Very curtious staff and service made a lovley evening.

Both food and rooms a bit on the pricey side. Very quiet and lots of character but only Harveys in real ale, the other two were blondes and not my sort of drink. Excellent breakfast though.

Possibly the BEST pub food I've ever eaten, the cheese board is heart stopping and the sort of chips I haven't had since we threw away the chip pan in 1999. A beautiful setting and Timothy Taylor Landlord. What more could you ask for!

Two post funeral visits here and each was wonderful. The first in November was unplanned but we had a feast of homemade soup and homemade bread, absolutely delicious. The second pre-arranged visit provided an amazing buffet, food to die for. Also an excellent bitter called 2.8, which, for a 2.8 was really good. Not the dishwater one would expect at that ABV but with a good body, hoppy and malty.

Had a social evening there and the buffet was excellent. A great spread. Doombar was absolutely wonderful. Not chilled and few bubbles, just how it should be. Very attentive staff with quick and friendly service. A really good evening in a really good pub.

Good sized seating area with plenty of tables but despite this the locals crowd the bar and you can't see the pumps for the people. However good Doom Bar well served with not too much gas or too cold. Very extensive menu with plenty of variety well presented food which was very tasy, this is the first pub I have had to sneak cheese from my cheese and biscuit (not on the menu) home in my pocket because there was just SOOOOO MUCH cheese. Despite it being August I would like to go back in the warm weather as it appears to have a very extensive and well appointed garden area. Good place.

Beechwood Hall Hotel, Worthing
New owner have turned this place around. A warm welcome with well presented Harveys Bitter. A lovely building with wonderful character and the perfect place to eat. The menu is varied and of excellent quality and seved in a large dining area. A large carpark and garden area. What more could you ask?

I'm told it is under new management and they are making an effort.
Yes there's Black Sheep but also Mordue Workie Ticket, a fine bitter well served. Food is well presented and very tastey with a good varied menu although just a tad pricey. The large windows overlooking the sea are mesmerising with Eider ducks, terns and gannets all performing. A lovely place to spend a summer evening, only it rained every s****ng day I was there in June.

Still short of beer again this Easter Monday but much improved selection when available. Good food and the new management are making improvements all round, very good menu.

The Crown and Anchor, Shoreham by Sea
I'm over 60 and I enjoy this place. Doom Bar is always on offer and is well kept. The seafood menu is good especially the mussels and the calamari. On a sunny evening there is no better place than the back terrace (if the tides in).

The George and Dragon, Burpham
PREEEEE-TENSIOUS. The Pickled Mouse (beer) was rather good but the menu a puzzle. The chicken caesar salad contained NO salad but it did have some white fish. When I questioned this I was told it was a "deconstructed" salad. Rather pricey and not really a pub.

The Royal Oak, Holmbury St Mary
Stayed the night here. Room was a little tired but the service and breakfast were excellent. This pub has the honour of being the first pub/restaurant presenting me with a meal (belly pork and chirizo) that beat me. Excellent food well prepared and tasty but just TOOOOO much.

Stephan Langton Inn, Abinger Common
I can beat that, 36 years since my last visit and it's still an excellent pub. A good drop of Shere Drop and a fine meal, really large mussels in the moule marinier. The cheese board tho' a tad pricey was well worth the cholesterol attack. A fine pub and a fine host.

The Three Horseshoes, Thursley
A groups of ten came here for our pre Christmas meal. We came on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. Excellent food and very reasonably priced, though only one choice per course for vegetarians. However the quality and presentation were both very good as was the service. It was a shame I was driving as the Surrey Hills Shere Drop bitter was very tasty.

The manager (female) obviously never goes to the gents. Probably the worst toilets in a public house.
Casual staff means the table are usually sticky and wet. Three real ales but one or two are usally off. "The barrels run out and the man who changes them wont be in till the morning" There is little point walking to the pub as the beers are only boys stuff IPA 3.2% Rudolph 3.6% no good real ales. Its only redeeming facture, it's cheap.

Toby Carvery Pub, West Worthing
It used to have the smelliest toilets on the south coast, now I cross my legs. London Pride gone and now only boys beers Green King IPA and Harveys Sussex. 7 Largers though.... hrumph Constantly changing staff means there is no enthuiasm for quality or service.

The Old Chemist Inn, Saundersfoot
One of the best pubs in wales. Right on the beach. Good selection of real ales and the very best chef in Wales. The food here is brilliant but it is popular at weekends. Ate my way throught the menu on a weeks holiday in SAUNDERSFOOT

Ran out of beer after Easter Monday, BUT they had some samples of a really good Tipsy Tup bottled pale ale, Cwm Deri Estate. Unfortunately not free samples.

17 bell ringers on an outing, booked a week ahead and gave food orders in advance. Over an hours wait for average food on cold plates. Had to phone around to re-schedule afternoon bell tower bookings. Very poor considering we booked ahead. Sorry to people who came in after us, they're probably still wating. Well kept beer but staff didn't know prices, (I think they were regulars who felt sorry for the staff and wanted to help out)

The Fur and Feather Inn, Woodbastwick
The Fur and Feather is to beer what Lourdes is to, well you know who.
Excellent food and beer, just like I make from the Woodford kits. Worth the walk from Salhouse Broad in the rain and dark with a failing torch.

Can't praise the staff enough as we had a medical emergency whilst on a boat moored at the jetty next door. The young First Aider on the staff was most helpful. The beer and food are also very good.

Really good refurb. nice decor and furnishing. Lively but plenty of space for a quiet chat and still has agood selection of real ales but it is rather pricey now. �3 a pint is forcing me over to the home brew.

Good beer well kept. Rev James, Abbot and a blonde beer that I can't recall.
Good accommodation, very resonable and excellent menu.
Food was well presented and good value. Wine list at sensible prices. Busy but not loud, excellent service throughout our stay.

A bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort.
Hammerpot Brewery Madgewick bitter absolutely fantastic. Shame I cant find a local outlet when I only live a couple of mile from Hammerpot.
Excellent food and service, Only lost a point as it closes after lunch.

New landlord and its really improved. Making great efforts and soon to be refurbished. This part of Worthing needs a good real ale outlet. Lovely Coopers Butt guest ale.

Not a great choice of real ales. Music rather loud so everyone shouts at each other, not the place for a quiet chat or reading your library book, but clean and well furnished.

The Cricketers Inn, Longparish
Get there early as it takes time to read the extensive menu. Proper real ale(only one bubble per pint). Excellent food, friendly staff and good service. First time I've used this website and it worked a treat.

The Lamb Inn, Hindon
Nothing to write home about here. Butcombe bitter was well kept, the food was not outstanding. Went there for a family pre-Christmas gathering so not many drinks consumed. Being Christmas had the reindeer (venison) steak. Not as tender as it could be and the roast vegetables were a little on the cool side. Hand made chips looked very similar to a bag of McCoys, I'm glad I didn't order these as a side dish. Cheese and biscuits (cheddar, red leicester, Brie and stilton) were a bit on the steep at £8.50. Generally a pleasant meal but not worth the 180 mile round trip.
