Pyle Cock Inn, Wednesfield

Decent pub serving Banks's Bitter and Mild and 3 Guest Ales (though the Bitter and Mild isnt on handpump. Situated on the 559 Bus route from Wolverhampton (very regular service) it is literally 2 minutes walk from Wednesfield Town Centre. It can get a tad smokey, though ironically when we went in the `Smoke Room' there was no one smoking at all! If you're in the area check it out.

The Olde White Rose, Bilston

If you think prices are high here you should try the Welly in Birmingham...no no no am just kiddin (Both pubs are excellent). You will not get a better choice of ales (especially in terms of quantity) anywhere else in Wolverhampton. To be fair I reckon the average price of an ale there is 2.15. Landlord John keeps the pub well supplied with many different Ales! If you're a CAMRA member you can get 10p off per pint of Real Ale. My mate Andy goes there reguarly and saves literally pounds every year! I agree with the comments about the carvery, though I would advise anyone thinking of going there on a Sunday to get there EARLY - well before 1pm as it gets ridiculously busy! Go there in the week though and you're sorted!

The Great Western, Wolverhampton

You know when you pop to the pub at lunchtime for a pint and a meal, and it takes for ever and ever for the food to arrive?
WELL FORTUNATELY NOONE CAN SAY THAT FOR THIS PUB...when I ordered my baguette (and what a baguette it was too for under 2) it was with me within 30 SECONDS!
The beer is definitely the best pub in Wolverhampton City Centre (its on the edge I guess located at back of Rail Station) and the normal Holden's Beers are complemented by Batham's Bitter and either Holden's Monthly Guest Beer or a out and out Guest ale - when I went in there the other day they were serving a beer from Kelham Island in Sheffield at 6.6%
I used the pub as a starting point for a crawl from Wolves to Stourbridge via Birmingham - everyone rated the beers here 5/5 for quality and price!
One word of caution..don't come in before 3pm when Wolves are at home as it gets RAMMED!

The Trumpet, Bilston

Excellent example of what a traditional pub should be - Good well priced beer (including a wide range from Holden's brewery), excellent historical decor (you need to come yourselves to see the range of old photos and adverts)and Jazz music most nights. Sit back with a pint of Holden's Golden Glow and enjoy the music and atmosphere!
Just to mention this pub has also known to be visited by local Politicians (at least one of the Wolverhampton MP's).
