Just spent an enjoyable 2 nights at the Unicorn. Made to feel at home by Gordi the host.
The beer was well kept (Butcombe Gold), and very welcome in the current heatwave!....and as for the steaks...the best i have ever come across...
The room was comfortable as well!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just had an excellent meal at The Brit.
The fish n chips were superb, even the fussy mother in law cleaned her plate!
The staff were attentive, and the beer was great!
Having eaten fish n chips @ Rick Steins, and The Magpie @ Whitby , these guys run a close third, but they are the best in the area!

The John Logie Baird, Hastings
Visit today!
Bearing in mind BH week end Sat lunchtime, heaving pub, just 4 bar staff on duty.
20 mins to get served at bar, real ale off, pipes not cleaned, food crap.
Some of the unwashed chavvy clientele dont believe in waiting their turn @ the bar
Will not be back

The Journeys End Inn, Ringmore
Just got back from a week in Ringmore.
Food & beer were superb, as was the friendly staff.
Sadly the owner is leaving in September, and the pub is being taken over by the chef from the Pilchard on Burgh Island( Not the owner of Burgh Island who doesnt like tourists using the Pilchard!)
14 Aug 2010 20:51
Went there for a "wake".
Beer is well kept and very pleasant.....BUT
Food...although it was only a buffet meal for which they probably paid a tidy sum..., it was awful, frozen Salmon & Brocolli Quiche , Salami sandwiches!!!??(stale)miniscule sausage rolls, and dry cheese n pickle sarnies, and a couple of bowls of luke warm chips for 40 people
Waited over an hour for that to be dished up.
Bearing in mind that there was about 40 in the party + lunchtime visitors(school holidays, it was understaffed.
Would i go back there again...for the beer ..Yes..food/service..NO
