Now called Table Table and been refurbished.
The atmosphere is OK and the seating in the bar area is pretty good with leather sofas and low tables so pretty relaxed. Food is typical cheap, soggy and tasteless. Would not go there to eat again, but would pop in for a pint any time :o)

Been a couple of times and really like the atmosphere, quite a posh clientele so you do get loud people telling their group (and everyone else within earshot) about their fantastic lives and name-dropping until the cows come home, which can be a little tedious. But despite this, worth a visit.

Since new landlady started this place is being run into the ground. The beer is way too expensive and the food has gone from excellent to shocking!! Previous family who ran it really cared and to eat you had to book or you would never get a table. Now it's like tumbleweed blowing through the place.
New landlady, swallow your pride and ask the locals why it has gone so wrong, make some simple changes to get it back to how it was, and start to rebuild your custom.
This pub WAS all about it's food and buzzing atmosphere (created by the staff).
Sadly there are now rumors that it is about to close.

Food is pretty dire but cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. Atmosphere OK and great to be by the canal.

Had some really good meals here and some real shockers!!! Always a good atmosphere but service is poor and just not on the button.

I like this pub/hotel. I have been a few times over Christmas and the food was really good and the portion sizes excellent. The chef was really friendly and the whole eating experience was very pleasant :o)

Not a good place to eat. Food comes in part-cooked and frozen and they just heat it up before they serve it. The fact that they have chickens on a rotisserie gives the impression that it is all cooked or grilled from fresh but this is not the case, which is why the food comes out pretty horrible most of the time, and the salad bar is uninspiring too.

Food is A1+++++ and service is good too. Good range of beers and nice pint of Black Sheep. I must of been having a really bad day last time I visited.... LOL

Really good food and good beer too. Friendly staff. I would say the food is top class - rump steak literally melts in your mouth, it is so tender.

Went there on Easter Saturday with my girlfriend. We had a laugh and was made to feel very welcome by the staff. Would I go again? Definite YES!

Superb meeting place, good food too, and great staff..

A bit tight to ban the kids and not have a play area. (yes, yes, I know the old indoor play area got trashed) but there would be a good argument for a treetops style wooden climbing frame outside. Food still spot on, as always (o:

Good pub! Food a bit crud though - you know the sort - tasteless fish - probably cheap coley rather than cod.

The Sheaf and Sickle, Long Lawford
It's open again and has actually been bought by a local chap. Food cooked to order and guest ales means this has got to be worth a try.

Another trip to the Harvester as it is known now. Excellent sirloin steak and chips. Really good food. Great service, decent prices, good atmosphere. Gone up in my estimations. Well done!

Errrr... a few months after it went under new management - the windows are boarded up and the place is closed down. What is going on???????

Fair place for a friendly pint. Lost a lot of character over the years though.

ARRRRGH!! ARRRRGH!! Got there at 2:30 last Saturday for a bite to eat - food finishes at two o'clock. ARRRRGH!! Had no cash, just a debit card so couldn't even buy a pint of Hook Norton. Third time lucky!

Went there after it was featured in the local paper. I didn't really think it was up to much. It felt like an ex-servicemans club, or something like. HOWEVER, I might have been having an off-day myself so I will go again and give the place a 2nd chance.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon at about 4 o'clock and it was closed!!!!! ARRRGH!!!!!! Really nice views and a curious looking building - will try again soon.

Considering the history of Dunchurch and the Dun Cow, it would be nice to see a guest beer in there. The place certainly looks like it should have one. Food OK but I get the feeling it is a bit processed.

Looking a little tatty around the edges but always welcoming.

What happened to the old landlord? It has lost something since they left. Not kid friendly at all now. What a shame.
1 Oct 2006 15:29
Last time I was there it was run down and had very sticky carpet.

I like this pub because it does what it says on the tin. It's a Wetherspoons and it delivers cheap beer and food. I expect nothing more and nothing less.
