The Snowdrop, Lewes

Such a shame this place use to be so good.
What is it with bad service in pubs, why don't they drill their staff in the basics
1. Acknowledge people who come to the bar
2. Keep a mental note of who is served first and next to be served (look all around the bar)
3. Be steady and swift in serving
4. Please and thank you

It's not that hard.

The Swan, Lewes

Lovely local pub. The new landlord is really nice.
She makes everyone feel very welcome.
Great Harvey's on tap and good value food

The Griffin Inn, Fletching

excellent pub spoilt by being too popular and patchy food, (some days great some times awful). This is the place to go during week after work early summer evenings looking over the fields in the garden, let the kids run around and have a few beers. If you do want to eat book the restaurant for lunch as they are usually better then. Avoid weekends like the plague unless just drinking.

The Roebuck Inn, Laughton

Excellent pub, Really friendly if a little un-trained bar staff, spent ages playing with our kids and feeding them chocolate. Food was good portions very big so one main is enough, nothing fancy just good pub grub. warm and friendly staff and unpretentious which is very refreshing to up its bum lewes.
Do sort out the smokey fire (it needs a throat putting in) though as it lingers on a otherwise good experience.

The Green Man, Ringmer

nice garden, lovely village, friendly bar staff but that's where the good stuff ends.
Food was ropey deep fry roast potatoes, cold roasted meats and cold gravy (yuk)
The person that serves on the carvery is with out doubt the rudest miserable sack of s***e ever (why do a job when you quite clearly hate it?). He was annoyed that we help ourselves to vegetables even though the bar staff said to. He then got grumpy that my daughter had a big plate even though she only took a small childs portion. He went on to make comments about annoying people helping themselves, he's lucky I didn't throw the plate back in his face. It's typical british service happy to take the 54quid for lunch and then treat you like dirt. We wont be going there again, it's shame a rude annoying person can ruin a good pub. I'll be writing to the brewery about him as well.
