Eager Poet, Milton Keynes

Friendly Pizza's!?! Sounds lovely...

Would go and try them but lets put it this way - its the closest pub to where I work - and we never go there!

The Black Horse, Great Linford

The pub is now once again called the Black Horse. Owners have tried to give it a more modern feel and have changed the food and beer. I've only been once simce the change and as I am off the booze at the moment, I only had soft drinks so i will leave it up to others to comment there. I can say that the new poncey crisps are horrible though - bring back good ol' Walkers!

Santa Fe, Brighton

We wandered in here while looking for somewere cool to grab a drink after the London to Brighton bike ride.
Just off the seafront, Santa Fe offered loads of places to sit when most places were crammed to the rafters - but I'm not sure why as this turned out to be quite a nice place.
The whole wall above the bar was devoted to displaying an enormous selection of spirits so it came as no suprise that there was a cocktail menu on every table. Wines seem to be very well represented too so maybe the lack of patronige was down to the fact that there wasn't a single beer available on draft! Lager came in bottle and I supopose for some this just isn't quite the same. Still Peroni shandies turned out to be quite nice!
Food was available in the "Grill" upstairs but we didn't have time to sample it.
Maybe next time....

The Giffard Park, Giffard Park

My local for what its worth...and I don;t visit there unless I am in the mood for a very lazy pint. Beer is expensive and the food is nothing more than OK. Might be a good stop off for anyone travelling down the Grand Union Canal though as it is right on the waterside

The Blue Posts, St James's

Went here this week for Techno's birthday drinks (no rest for the wicked!) Football was on but as it wasn't an England match the place wasn't too packed and we only had to wait an hour or so to snatch a table. Drinks were reasonable but getting food seemed to be such a task we didn't bother in the end. All in all I found the place a bit dull
