The Old White Swan, Beaconsfield

The Swan is an excellent traditionally styled pub with 3 hand pulled beers on tap , all kept well. I love the surroundings and so far have not been tempted into any other bar in the old town! Especially since the food is exceptional and good value. The menu is a little limited meaning that what is done is locally sourced quality food that will not disappoint. A great place to go and no doubt it has a loyal local following too...

The White Horse, Hedgerley

This is a fantastic real ale drinkers pub in beautiful village surroundings. The pub lies in a valley which protects it from winds and has plenty of outside seating for the summer. It has a loyal local following as well as many beer hunter visitors. There are regular beer festivals featuring numerous beers. The majority of beers are served from the barrel and well looked after. There are 8 independent beers on tap at resonable prices as well as ciders and even 1 draught Belgian lager. There are other lagers too and soft drinks for those who dont like drinking.
Food is good basic english fair and during summer bbq's are numerous. There are often other events and the pub welcomes wandering events unlike so many others. If Carlsberg made lager then this is one of the best pubs in the UK (Drink British Beer)!

The Red Lion, Slough

A great looking pub with interesting internal decoration and open fireplaces. Most of the pub is now given over to the restaurant and eating. Food is good but expensive. The outside area is nice and very pleasant for a summers day. Due to the pubs change of nature it has little local following and the music that is piped through the interior is sterile and quizzical!
The beer served here is good when the independent beer is on which is infrequently, otherwise it has Doombarand non hand pulled London Pride. Lager types are numerous and generally uninspiring (2012).

The Fat Controller, Harrow

RIP - prices were too high when opposite the Moon on the Hill. Great site for a pub with some nice rooms. Hope it reopens as a Pub or Restaurant.

O'Neills, Harrow

Food here is good and keenly priced so I visit here quite regularly. The surroundings are nice and the staff usually very helpful. Beer is the only problem as guiness red is the only drink here for me. A choice of some good British real ale would make this a regular place for me, but guiness and lager don't cut it!

Trinity, Harrow

This pub could be great. The customers are young and often rocky/gothy and so a generally friendly bunch. The surroundings are individual and interesting with bands playing regularly upstairs. The music played here is excellent and I would visit here more often if the beer prices were more reasonable. All drink is expensive and the real ale choice is limited. Its a shame a good pint seems not to be a priority!

Moon On The Hill, Harrow

Food here is now very good and the prices are lower than all other London Wetherspoon pubs which is great! Beer (real ale) excellent and choice varies. All ale is kept well and keenly priced. Staff are excellent and very helpful. Only downside is the decor which is looking very tired.

The Eclipse, South Harrow

A modern pub style but the real ale is not kept well. I had to resort to guiness which is a desperate measure! I have not tried the food. The pub is bigger than it looks.

Cafe Cafe, Harrow On The Hill

No draught beer so not worth staying. Stella OK but pricey. Often busy although I struggle to see why!!

The Star, South Harrow

A lively pub next to South Harrow Station. Has bands and shows football matches. beer is inoffensive but not great although the draught beer lines are cooled which is a bonus. Thai food is good but price of rice astronomical considering the portion size which is too small for the main course which is strange!!

The Castle, Harrow On The Hill

The Castle is an excellent pub serving quality beer. The food is good but not what it once was. The credit crunch has seen them change from Gastro pub fair to a more traditional basic meal at a keener price. The food is however very good and the staff are helpful. The beer garden is hidden up the stairs and away from any noise, it is lovely during summer. The beer and food are priced on the high side but still reasonable in the nice traditional surroundings. This pub can get very busy so book or choose your times.

The White Horse, Harrow

This pub has changed a lot, it is clean and tidy with character. It has a range of good draught beers that are kept well. There is a restuarant area and a drinking area. Food is reasonably priced and of a good quality. The drinking area has a large tv to watch sporting events, although usually football (I prefer rugby and most other sports!). The bar staff are efficient and friendly. Outside the beer garden is quiet and away from the road which barely sees many cars anyway. It has a play area for children and is fantastic during summer. Overall an excellent pub the only down side is the beer is a bit pricey.
