The Oxford Bar, Edinburgh

One of my top 3 Edinburgh boozers. City central, good ale, well priced and friendly service. Have visited a couple of times over the years but never reviewed before.

Enjoyed the Zymic (Stewart Brewing) and Trade Winds (Cairngorm)

The Pump Room, Halifax

Popped in for a pint of Raspberry Blonde (Saltaire Brewery) and Copper Dragon/Golden Pippin (Skipton Brewery). Both very enjoyable, decent enough pub and worth a visit.

Three Pigeons, Halifax

Reviews are completely justified. Had a cracking time in the pub and enjoyed the delicious Big Red (Osset Brewery), Citra (Excelsior) and Gun Jumper (Salamander).

Lovely traditional pub, will definitely be revisiting.

The Jolly Sailor, Farnham

Glad I can post a review here as a new one is well overdue.

Chanced upon this place last Saturday whilst wandering round the town and had a very enjoyable few hours. Walked in at a time that live football was on the tv, maybe a couple of dozen people in the pub.

Found the service very pleasant and the majority of clientele were absolutely spot on. There was an issue with a small group of obnoxious individuals but they were dealt with in due course and credit must go to the Landlord.

Enjoyed a few pints, real ale is well looked after. Apologies I cannot recall what I had...must pay more attention next time (or carry a notebook!)

Sincerely hope other reviewers in the future have a positive experience and can get this pub the rating it deserves.

The Bull Inn, Chichester

Visited on Saturday afternoon, quite peaceful inside. Selection of six, local real ales available. Unfortunately, my failing memory makes it difficult to recall what I drank :-(

Enjoyed the sausages for dinner (well worth the hype!) and our Host was very pleasant.

Lovely suntrap at the back of the pub, although its very heavily built up.

The Magpie and Crown, Brentford

Went in yesterday pre and post match for the Brentford v Dale game. Excellent pub, well maintained and a fine selection of beers.

Particularly enjoyed Twickenham Grandstand, Bath Ales 'Gem' and Chennai IPA.

Will definitely return very soon and highly recommend.

The Bootlegger, High Wycombe

Good real ale pub. Enjoyed the Rebellion IPA (Rebellion, Marlow) and Drovers 80/- (Tryst, Larbert).

There's little in High Wycombe to rival this place.

The Red Lion and Pineapple, Acton

In on Wednesday 4th for a couple of quiet jars. The 'Pale Rider' (Kelham Island, Sheffield) was excellent. Bar was reasonably busy but the Staff were well on top.

The Angel Inn, Leeds

Not sure about the pourings below about the 'lively characters' the pub attracts. The main thing that was overwhelming about the clientele was the smell of B.O. (this pub would benefit from no smoking ban:-)

A good pub overall, one pint of Sovereign and one of Old Brewery in pleasant surroundings. Would recommend Vicks Vapourub under the nostrils for anyone planning a visit.

Whitelocks, Leeds

Very enjoyable time there on the 30th December. A good few pints of the Three Swords (Kirkstall) in excellent company. Service was spot on.

The Watermans Arms, Richmond

Couple of pints of the excellent 'Twickenham Naked Ladies' there this afternoon, spot by the fire which was an added bonus.

Not quite sure 3.60 is a reasonable price for a pint of real ale but probably more reflective of the price of being in Richmond.

Ship Inn, Middleton

OK, a little biased here as this is the local to the village where I spent the first 18 years of my life. A London resident since 2000, I head in there now and again when I'm back to visit family.

Was in on Xmas Day for a couple of hours, the place is well looked after, Lees Bitter to a good standard (one of the few places that gets this right!) friendly service and the place was heaving.

If you're out walking or on the canal, well worth popping in.

The Trackside, Bury

Went in yesterday for a couple of halves. Tried the 'Broken Piston' (Outstanding Brewery) and a seasonal ale 'Christmas Carol' (cannot recall which brewery). Both very good, place was busy and service excellent.

My first visit to the much heralded Trackside and well worth the build up!

Standard Sammy Smith's pub...enjoyed a couple of pints of Old Brewery Bitter post work. Very busy pub but service was prompt and professional.

Popped along today for a late lunch. Enjoyable Sunday Roast washed down with Hogs Back TEA.

Good service all round, quality in the food and ale.
