Under New Management - fruit machines and sky sports all gone. Now a decent proper pub - four real ales on plus a load of different gins. Well worth a visit and a welcome change to the spoons and dross in town.

Reopens with new management Wednesday 1st October 2015.
Decent beer range now and simple pub grub in a proper pub.

More of a restaurant than pub, but very nice interior and selection local beers from XT Long Crendon Brewery available in bottle. Lovely conservatory and garden.

Recent change in manager. Proper local pub, decent selection of beers from Rebellion and XT Breweries. Probably the best pub in Bourne End.

Interesting pub, and a good choice of local beers including Loddon, Vale, XT, Rebellion etc.

Honest country pub, made to feel very welcome from landlord Andy. Range of well kept local beers from XT and Vale.

Lovely pub in the center of the old village. New management have brought this place alive, great food and well kept beers.

The Wheel is a great find. A GK pub but with true guest beers from a wide range of brewers local and further.

Lovely little country pub, well worth the drive and searching to find. A range of well kept ales including a very nice beer called XT 4 from a local brewery.

The Charles Dickens, Beaconsfield
[True to the last comment, Beerintheevening don't ever seem to update anything these days] But.. the Treehouse is a lovely re-invention of the 'pub' and very smart, they also have the lovely XT 4 on as a regular ale as well.

Real atmosphere, real pub and real ales from the inhouse Thame Brewery and the new local XT Brewery. There's even two TV stars behind the bar!

Great pub and good local beers including the new XT .. well worth a visit.

Great Beer Festival last night, had a pint of the Dark Star Porter and the new local XT Four - both very good and well kept. A proper pub.

The Royal Standard, Wooburn Common
Great choice of beers, best selection for miles around. Had a very enjoyable evening at the meet the brewer night with Dark Star brewery. If you like beer, you can't but help like the Standard.

The Anglers Rest, Millers Dale
Nice multi room pub, hikers bar, lounge and a small restarant room. Good range of local beers, well kept.
15 Apr 2011 15:16
wonderful multi room country pub in the pretty village of litton. Food beers (generally a changing list of local brews) and service top rate.
15 Apr 2011 15:13
The Three Stags Heads, Wardlow Mires
Rightly this pub is in the top 10, amazing place takes a trip back to how a rural Derbyshire pub would have been. Landlord, locals and dogs all very friendly and welcoming. Great find.

The Stag and Huntsman, Hambleden
Great little pub. Beers well kept, had a pint of Loddon Hoppit. Separate distinct bars and friendly locals, manages to not vanish up its own backside like some of the other pubs in the area.

Decent pub. Dave looks after his beers - usually three from Rebellion. Limited opening hours (weekends only) in winter.
5 Jan 2011 20:59
Great little pub. Two bars, friendly barman. Only GK beers on, but always well kept. Good sized meals all home cooked.

The Green Man, Flackwell Heath
The Green Man is now borded up and looks like it will be demolished...
16 Dec 2010 16:23
The boards are off and the pub is being refurb'ed. Says it will reopen in July, and the new owners look like a chain of Steak restaurants/pubs. Wait and see...

Very pretty pub in the lovely village of Bledlow, lots of different seating areas, and very low beams. Five changing real ales on, usually well kept. But, as they only ever have one guy working the bar it can take ages to get service. The food, takes ages, expensive and is a bit lackluster. Just one or two more staff and bit more effort on the food and this would be a 10/10 pub.

This place has changed hands a couple of times since Statto's comment below. Generally four or five well kept ales from the likes of Sharps, Adnams or Fullers. Great old interior, with a wood burner in the front bar and low timbered ceilings.
24 May 2010 16:00
Couple of well kept Jennings beers on, shame their interior refit lacks the charm this old building could have

Tweedies Bar at Dale Lodge Hotel, Grasmere
Good range of beers, about 8 when we visited and mainly local brews, and a very large garden.
24 May 2010 15:18
Great range of beers, you'll guarantee to find something new. Went on a Sunday, very busy, but sat outside in the lovely garden. This pub is hard to beat.

The Jolly Farmer, Cookham Dean
Great pub owned by the village. Usually 4 or 5 beers on, typically from Rebellion, Brakespears, Youngs and various guests, which are all very well kept. Large garden for the kids out the back.
9 Mar 2010 16:37
Good 'local' pub, three beers usually from the likes of GK, Adnams or Fullers. Probably the best pub in Bourne End.
9 Mar 2010 16:26
Ok pub, but could be so much better, lacks the charm that it could so easily have. Beers usually ok, with guests from the GK list.
9 Mar 2010 16:19
If you don't like the Bounty, you have no soul. Usually has three Rebellion beers on, reasonably well kept. Very un-pretentious pub, everyone welcome, dogs, kids, walking boots.

The Old Hill Inn, Chapel-le-Dale
Really welcome after hiking over Ingleborough. Lots of wood and bare stone walls, mixed with open fires, it's what a pub should be in the Dales. I had a good pint of Dent Aviator, and there was a fair range of other beers on pump.
9 Mar 2010 14:03
Like a trip back to the 1930s. Very nice pint of Tim Taylor Best served from a jug. Landlord is a character, very friendly once you got used to his humour. Really is well worth a visit. Please never change this place, there are so few of its kind left.
9 Mar 2010 13:53
Would say this is easily the best pub in Kettlewell. Great steak pie and portions so big, the veg comes on side dishes. Good and changing range of beer. Had few fine pints of Yorkshire Dales Cragside.
9 Mar 2010 13:44
The James Figg, Thame
Beer choice good - locals from XT and Vale plus a Purity let down by Gloom Bar. Great boozer and generally very busy
