Fond of a good pub, with a good atmosphere, friendly locals and barstaff. Dislike bouncers and music you have to shriek over.

Neds, Holywood

You'll get one of the best pints of Guinness or Harp in North Down as well as the best service in Ned's. This is an established family-run pub that operates a strictly 'No Nonsense' approach to all who enter it. Unless it's a big sporting occasion, there's no TV on; unless it's St Patrick's Night, there's no music on; there are no gaming machines - ever - and they're not too fond of mobile phones being used or abused. What's left to do? Talk to you neighbour and enjoy the craic.

The Alexandra, Clapham

I still think this pub is the best one - by far - in clapham. The staff are all great and know exactly what they're doing. The atmostphere is always warm and friendly and there's very rarely any trouble; given how busy it can get on a weekend, that's pretty impressive. Very few wa*kers make it past the first set of pumps - they're usually politely ejected by one of the ever-observant bartenders! On reading earlier reviews, i don't think it is an Irish-themed bar, there just happens to be an Irish guy in charge. Always bring my friends here when they visit, and they love it too.

The White Horse and Bower, Westminster

Great refurbishment since reopening in late 2004. Didn't change the 'look' of the place, but really cleaned it up. No sport is shown here anymore, but if you want a nice pint, in nice surroundings and friendly staff and punters, you'll not go too wrong here.
