The Masons Arms, Rennington

One of my locals all be it not really a pub more inclined to food (first rate),17 well maintained upper end letting rooms, usually 3 real ales on, at the moment "Hadrian and Borders" Pioneer,Tyneside Blonde, well worth stopping for a meal, a weekend or just a pint or two.

Jolly Fisherman, Craster

Dirty and dingey, living off its reputation of many years ago, real ale expensive and really no good at all,as long as it is frequented by tourists and walkers who seem to not care about the quality they should be receiving it will remain the same.

The Hollybush Inn, Greenhaugh

Closed Down not viable I have been informed, great shame was a great little boozer all be it in the middle of nowhere.
Hope someone takes it on as a hobby pub needs to be kept alive.

The Schooner Hotel and Restaurant, Alnmouth

I live very local, stopped here 18 month ago to save the old drink driving rap.
I found the staff very rude especially when they tried to pass off shite gin for "Gordons" and I had the temerity to complain,It is not even worthy of a 1/2 * as hotels go.
THE BIG BREAKFAST no spoons to eat your cereal with, when staff eventually found complete disconcern, then the main fry up bacon from "Farmfoods" under cooked !!eggs as hard as squash balls !! time to leave,100 later no one to complain to ,a email address thats non existant, needless to say I aint been back.
To be avoided at all costs

The Bricklayers Arms, Luton

If its such a good pub why has no one taken a photo of it
considering its No2.

The Barrels Alehouse, Berwick upon Tweed

My Old local, pop back now and then (30 miles away now)
Always have a fine selection of real ales continental ditties and ABSINTHE !!!
Had many a fine night here, music on a friday normally, was Americana biased but now changing.
Any pub which has a dentists chair, coffin, swordfish hanging the off ceiling, black tiles in the gents,a picture of a 60 year old climbing his first tree and a plethora of oddities deserves a visit from all and sundry.
long may it live.

The Hairy Lemon, Alnwick

Really poor bar no real ales, lacking any kind of soul, loud music, typical chain pub ,staff quite friendly thou, caters for the younger set.

The Falcons Rest/Bar Zanz, Alnwick

To be avoided at all costs like the wild west at weekends
frequented by youths and the rougher elements.

The Olde Ship Hotel, Seahouses

Iv'e been popping in here for years now 4 or 5 days a year when passing, always a great atmosphere and some of the best kept ales in Northumberland.
Long may it continue.

The Blink Bonny, Alnwick

If ever a pub has been given the kiss of life this is the one.
It was ran by a lady who had delusions of grandeur and as such ran the place into the ground and went bust.
Since Mick and Margaret have taken over the pubs fortunes have changed dramatically, back to a nice friendly place to drink with decent real ales and good crack.
I would highly recommend it for a visit as the food is very good served in the sun room or if you have a dog with you the bar.

The Ship Inn, Alnwick

What can I say one of the most picturesque old fishing villages around, the pub owned and leased out by the national trust.Thats the best bit,The Ship has been ruined over the past ten years, souless, not very inviting, you have to queue out the door to get a pint of not very good ale (it's quicker to drive up the hill to The Joiners and back for a pint).
All the locals left the place years back but for a few who venture back mow and then hoping its changed.
It caters for the holiday pound and walkers who daresay love the place.
A good old locals pub completly ruined.

The Kylesku Hotel, Kylesku

Well worth the drive, been a couple of times stayed for three days once room basic but comfy (late september 2005 if my memory is right). At that time the pub had just been taken over by a couple from Whitly bay some 400 miles distant in the south of Northumberland.
Food as then very good but slightly expensive the locally caught langostines and other seafood are delivered to the pub straight off the boat at the jetty outside.
Yes they have a captive market as it is a long way to any other hostleries but in my opinion well worth the visit,I recall the beer was not that expensive taking into account the very isolated location.
At the time the place shutdown late October until March time.
Fantastic scenery peace and quiet and YES the bloody mozzies.

Grey's Inn, Embleton

Great little locals pub, real ales much better now, really good food especially sunday roast (expect a little wait for your food as it is not of the boil in the bag vararity).
The pub now boasts 3 open coal fires,Sky and Setanta for watching the footie.
I have found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Unlike some pubs this one is open all day every day
