Nice old pub with good beer. Pleasantly unspoilt and scruffy.

The Port William Inn, Tintagel
Great location, no idea about food. Beer OK. Service and prices geared to tourists - ie people who they think won't return, so they don't need to make any effort.

Over-rated. Food industrial. Good views from the tables outside.

Had to visit but a bit disappointed. Another one of those pubs that loves itself but thinks it doesn't have to try.

Interesting pub which thinks its really good. Beer quality excellent. Food OK.

Food has gone downhill. Beer is OK but surely they could make chips properly. Shame.

Good beer, but industrial food. Best to keep quiet about most things, especially football as the landlord doesn't really like customers. Have been here loads of times and have yet to get in an argument, which is quite a feat.

Half empty for Sunday lunch says it all. Used to be a great family pub serving great food. Now serves over-priced badly cooked food and is trying to be a restaurant. Can't possibly survive like this. Clueless.

Still really good. Decent beer, nicely cooked and priced food and friendly service.

Dreadful industrial food and dodgy beer. Good if you want a bowl of tarted up olives - which says it all really.

The Harveys is more consistent than it used to be but it still can't get into the GBG. Best thing about this pub is that you can take a pint down the road to the best fish and chip shop (Bardsleys) in Brighton. Some of the clientele are odd - they like to stare, pass comment and smoke too much!

The Long Man of Wilmington, Patcham
Very good Harveys and Taylor's Landlord. Food very good too and well cooked by Manchester City supporting chef. Choose either football and pool or a quiet drink in the civilised and smart lounge. Easily the best pub in the area.

The Hangleton Manor, Hangleton
Beer is OK. Garden not bad. Nowhere else nearby is any good.

Food has got back to what it used to be like. Decent beer and wine. Can be too busy and is really a restuarant - but who cares if you want a decent meal out?

Great beer, excellent landlord always on hand to discuss the merits of Swindon Town. Quite small and can be dominated by the in-crowd.

The Pig and Butcher, Five Ash Down
On CAMRA's list of historic interiors - although it's difficult to see why. A fairly unfriendly dump.

Always a quality pint and decent lunch time food. Bit busy at times and some funny music on Sunday nights. Civilised and friendly.

The Elephant and Castle, Lewes
A pleasant surprise mid-week, despite the Sky TV. Excellent beer and very friendly service.

The Devils Dyke Hotel, Brighton
Avoid at all costs. One of the worst pubs anywhere in the world. Diabolical food, beer and service.

Quality beer. Food's got better - less industrial than a few years ago. Best seats are in the sun in the garden in the evening. Restaurant can be snobby but there are other bars to eat in. Nice garden too.

Quality beer and nice outdoor drinking area overlooking park. Easily the best pub in the locality.

The Basketmakers Arms, Brighton
Quality beer, really good value food. Can get too busy and it's hard to find a seat. Good for lunch.

The Buckingham Arms, Shoreham by Sea
Noisy and horrible.
