The Seymour Arms, Witham Friary

another untouched gem,set in a time warp, familly owned for generations, just up my street, bar skittles ,bar biliards and the prices, you have to go to believe them, and it gets well patronised with locals and characters alike,

The Rose and Crown, Huish Episcopi

An Olde world public house in every sense of the word.Good Ale,Good Food,Good Welcome. No frills No spills,is the watchword of these hostelries.Several of these exist up/down the land, and all have that magic ingredient, which cannot be duplicated via your pub chain,This being actual history,Familly History, and remaim a social center of activity.Always a warm welcome and sociability by the barrow load.

Hunters Lodge, Priddy

Excellent old worlde charm and character pub,Mister X as summed this place up to a tea.Forget the overpriced frills and spills of the so called modernist public house,For the real pub goers that still exist, this is the place to be.The day i called ther must have been about 20/30 come and go,each had a couple of drinks and food. You,d be hard pressed to say that about todays public houses,a classic case of no frills wins the day.i too shall be back whence in the locality.

The Panborough Inn, Panborough

This place was having a rather ornate patio/decking area installed on my visit.Never the less.the young German hostess was ultimate in service and teutonic effiency. The meal was very good and well presented,I only had a lite bite, and were amply satiated. What must the main meal be like.Definitely be returning at somepoint to this eatery.

The Castle Tavern, Weston Super Mare

the castle tavern at kewstoke just at the end of the toll road.Has reopened a few months ago in the managed capable hands of sylvia adams, and her chef chris. We have now tried several dishes from all the present menus, and have yet to be dissapointed.Service is one to one and excellent all staff being polite ,and very helpful throughout.Although bijou,it is comfortable and, relaxing, and as extra space outside front patio area giving the same stunning views across the estuary.Bookings are highley recommended,as the popularity of the CASTLE is gaining rapid strides.I have no qualms whatsoever of recomending this establishment. The food is keenly priced and, portions well generous to say the least.I shall certainly be making return visits, and mine host and staff all the best of success
